Ceramics – Émilie Morin-Fournier

In 10 weeks, the “Ceramics for Beginners” workshop will allow you to acquire basic ceramic skills.

Whether you want to learn the basics of ceramics, or continue to explore what you already know, the “Ceramics for Beginners and Intermediate” workshop is for you!

In this workshop you will discover or deepen your knowledge of wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramic techniques. Using food grade glazes, you will be able to create practical objects as well as art objects.

During these 10 sessions, you will discover and explore:

Week 1 – How to pack the clay and center on the wheel to make a bowl/cup. Preparation of tiles to test the colors of the glaze.

Week 2 – Firing your creations and adding decorations. Glaze our tiles.

Weeks 3-9 – Explore different hand building techniques, as well as wheel building. Participants will have the opportunity to create several pieces and expand their knowledge as we will fire the works in the kiln approximately every week.

Week 10 – Finalize the works.

To Be Noted: these workshops will be presented in French.
