Dotation funds :
an essential collaboration

The Centre culturel franco-Manitobain occupies a central place in the cultural life of the community. As a cultural hub, it offers various artistic, educational and social activities aimed at promoting the richness of Francophone culture in Manitoba. However, to ensure the sustainability of its initiatives and broaden its impact, the CCFM must face growing financial needs.

Faced with this context, Les Amis du CCFM took the initiative to set up the endowment fund. This fund was created to support the cultural, social and community mission of the CCFM. In addition to raising public awareness of these issues, the fund's mission is to provide concrete support to the CCFM.

Les Amis du CCFM established this endowment fund in partnership with Francofonds, an organization recognized for its expertise in the field. This strategic collaboration aims to ensure professional and transparent financial management of the donations collected. All contributions, whether from individuals, businesses or other organizations, will be routed via Francofonds.

Together for a cultural future: take part in our fundraising

Les Amis du CCFM Endowment Fund cordially invites you to participate in the preservation and enrichment of our French-speaking heritage. As part of this initiative, we have launched a fundraising campaign. The first phase of this campaign runs from November 20 to December 31, 2023 and relies on your financial generosity to lay the foundations of our project. Subsequently, other campaigns will emerge each year.

Long-term fundraising goal:
Our ambition is to mobilize significant resources over the coming years through our new endowment fund, in order to vitally support the artistic, educational and cultural programs of the CCFM.

Initial fundraising goal:
The first step is to successfully match the $25 donated by the Forest family, in order to reach an initial goal of $000 by December 50, 000.

Why invest?
Your donation goes well beyond its financial dimension: it constitutes an essential act of cultural preservation. By supporting us, you actively contribute to preserving our language, promoting the development of our artists, guaranteeing the education of our young people and maintaining the vitality of our community.

MARCELLE
FOREST
Les Amis du CCFM Funds was established thanks to an initial donation of $25 from Mr. Gabriel Forest, on behalf of his late wife, Marcelle Forest. Both were long-time donors to Francofonds and ardent defenders of Franco-Manitoban culture and heritage. This generous donation also recognizes Marcelle as the first woman to have chaired the CCFM Board of Directors from 000 to 1983, a distinction that she remained the only one to hold until 1988. For this first donation campaign, we have the privilege of appointing Marcelle Forest as honorary president, in recognition of her exceptional support and remarkable investment in the CCFM.

Born on August 6, 1927 in Saint-Boniface, Marcelle grew up in the heart of Saint-Boniface. Her passion for her Franco-Manitoban culture and heritage led her to be actively involved in the community throughout her adult life. She has served on numerous boards and committees.

Marcelle has also played an integral role in major fundraising campaigns within the community. In recognition of her volunteer commitment, she received the Certificate of Merit from the provincial premier for volunteer service in 1989 and 1993, as well as the 1999 Riel Prize in the artistic and cultural sector. Additionally, she was honored with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Marcelle and Gaby were also recipients of the Certificate of Merit from the Compagnie des Cents Associés Francophones, testifying to their exceptional generosity towards the French-speaking community, a generosity which is noticed and very appreciated.

Our achievements

Thanks to the funds generated by their activities and the generous donations made to them, the Friends of the CCFM play an essential role in the realization of major projects within the Centre culturel franco-manitobain.

The reception of 340 Provencher

In September 2020, 340 Provencher inaugurated its brand new reception desk, thus becoming a single point of contact and information for the general public. This major development project, for the benefit of all of the center's cultural organizations, was made possible thanks to the commitment of the Friends of the CCFM, supported by generous funding from the Winnipeg Foundation.

The new patio 340 scene

In 2022, construction work on the new Patio 340 stage began. In the summer of 2023, this stage was officially inaugurated, allowing the public to discover the artists of the summer season in this new space. The completion of this project was made possible thanks to the commitment of the Friends of the CCFM and the financial support of the Winnipeg Foundation.
