Pattern Design - Marie Rosette Mikulu

In 5 weeks, the Pattern Design workshop will provide you with the techniques necessary to create the basic block of a pencil skirt.

This course will give you the necessary elements to create a basic pattern for any size from scratch.

In creating a pattern, your only limit is your imagination as this pattern will be the basis for a gathered skirt, a skirt with princess lines and many others. Not only will we learn how to create a basic pattern, we will also sew this skirt.

The goal of this course is to equip you to create your own wardrobe and go on the more responsible side of fashion.

Mistakes happen and we will make a lot of them while having fun.

This workshop is for anyone interested in learning how to create a pattern regardless of your level of knowledge.

During these 5 sessions, you will discover and expand on:

Week 1 – Materials, techniques

Week 2 – Creating the pattern and cutting the fabric

Week 3 – Sewing a mock up and installing a closure

Week 4 – Sewing the skirt

Week 5 – Sewing the skirt / Handling the pattern

Material to bring

  1. Sewing machine
  2. Paper and fabric scissors
  3. 1 yard of fabric (cotton)*.
  4. One zipper (8”)
  5. Canvas Fabrics (for mock up)
