Come discover the art of felt making with Colette Balcaen! This ancient technique, using sheep's wool, will allow you to create a beautiful square textile landscape. Guided by the artist Colette Balcaen, you'll learn in one session how to bring your unique, handmade artwork to life! We simply ask that you bring an old piece of fabric (like a bath towel) that you don't mind using for the workshop. Colette Balcaen is a Franco-Manitoban artist originally from Winnipeg. She integrates textiles, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and performance. Fabrics and threads are fundamental to her personal expressions of her cultural heritage. She creates physical representations of narratives stitched from one thread to another. Currently, she is exploring felting techniques.
