LEARN FOLK AND TRADITIONAL FRENCH-CANADIAN DANCES!

Introduction to basic jig steps and French-Canadian folk dance. Creative movement, improvisation, rhythm. Warm up with emphasis on muscle insolation and flexibility, followed by jig steps and basic techniques for folk, traditional and international dances. The classes include elements of coordination, musicality, movement and dance technique.

Cost

Complete year (26 classes and the end-of-the-year recital): $300

10 classes (only for Adult Jig): $120
5 classes (only for Adult Jig): $60

2019-20 Classes

JIG 1

For beginners aged 7–9 years old.

Saturdays, 10am to 11am, Room 142

JIG 2

For beginners aged 8 and older.

For children who followed Jig 1, or children aged 8 and older who already have some experience in jig or tap dance.

Saturdays, 11am to 12pm, Room 142

JIG 3

For beginners aged 9 and older.

For children who followed Jig 2, or children aged 9 and older who already have some experience in jig or tap dance.

Thursdays, 6pm to 7pm, Room 142

For kids 12 and older (by audition)

Saturdays, 12pm to 1pm, Studio

This class is for teenagers and adults who would like to learn the jig steps and the French-Canadian folk dance!

It’s possible to register for 10 or 5 classes (see rates above), for those who want to try jig but don’t want to do a whole year.
