Journal Art Workshop: A method of creative expression - Mathilde Gautier

WORKSHOP CONTENT

An art diary reflects our moods and creativity by working with colors and shapes. It also leaves room for words, but to a lesser extent than a traditional journal. The sessions also allow you to discover or deepen various artistic techniques and mixed media.

Personalized sessions: I adapt the sessions according to the needs of the group. For example, a workshop theme can be adjusted from one class to the next depending on the group’s progress. The technique of journal art encourages creativity by connecting with oneself without pressure of performance or results.

SCHEDULE:

During 5 sessions, you will discover and deepen :

Week 1: From intuitive writing to image

  • from intuitive writing exercises, we start from the written word to produce something visual

Week 2: From the other to oneself

  • plastic expression based on a theme that touches the participants. The theme will have been determined during the first session according to the participants’ interests

Week 3: Letting go and connecting to your feelings

  • plastic expression from a word found by chance in a magazine or a book
  • what a word evokes for oneself

Week 4: Letting go and intuition

  • Drawing of colored cards to work around a color and its meaning
