This year, La Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Canada’s annual French celeberation, will take place on June 24, 2018, from 10 am to 2 pm, in front of Fort Gibraltar, symbolic place of the arrival of the French in the Prairies.

Several games and activities for children aged 2-10 will take place throughout this day, organized in partnership with Pluri-elles.

On stage, the UMUCYO association will perform traditional rwandan dance, followed by L’Ensemble folklorique de la Rivière Rouge. At noon, magician Isabelle la Wonderful will amaze kids as well as adults, and finally, Marijo will sing some of her best tunes!

Pluri-Elles will also provide various games of skills for the whole family, with an emphasis on family literacy. Books in French will be distributed throughout the day.

Festival du Voyageur will offer free admission to Fort Gibraltar to schools which take part in La Saint-Jean-Baptiste activities.
Schools that are interested can contact the festival at [email protected] or (204) 237 7692 to book a visit.
