Findings: Art as an object of socio-cultural and environmental reflection
Inspired by her Métis heritage, Candace develops a rebellious, raw art based on the “upcycling” of abandoned antiques dating back to the early 1900s. The elements that make up her works are finds from her property in Otterburne, to which the artist offers a second life. The works question our views of Manitoba’s human history and provide food for thought on the ecological issues facing current and future generations.
