Opening show for Cinémental 2016 : Daran – Le monde perdu

The CCFM in collaboration with Cinémental present Daran – Le monde perdu at the opening show for Cinémental 2016 !

The French-language film festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and Daran is kicking things off with a very unique show! Daran presents the poetic universe of his album, Le monde perdu, by mixing video, drawings and music on stage. Wonderment guaranteed!

Daran is a Francophone singer-songwriter born in Italy and now living in Quebec. Daran’s music comes from blues and especially rock influences. It is distinguished by the elegant sound of two guitars, one acoustic and one electric.

Le monde perdu is undoubtedly the most accomplished and personal album of Daran’s career. The one that he’s wanted to make for 15 years. “Record companies have always been cautious with projects like this, but now I don’t really have to justify my musical choices, so I did it. A solo album, entirely acoustic, just guitar, vocals and harmonica.” An album in the purest tradition of North-American folk, to texts from Miossec, Pierre-Yves Lebert and Moran.

Cinémental is at CCFM from October 12th to 16th. See cinemental.com for the full festival lineup.
