One-Eyed-Rabbit: The power of imagination serving the children!

Attention everyone : the next opening in La Galerie du CCFM will be… in the morning! Forget the traditional wine and cheese: on August 19 at 9:30 AM, it is the children who will be the kings of the moment, in a CCFM invaded by… rabbits!

You read that right: the Centre culturel franco-manitobain (CCFM), with the support of La Fédération des parents du Manitoba (FPM), invite you along with your children to the opening of One-Eyed-Rabbit, the first exhibit designed especially for children presented by the CCFM !

With artist Jonathan Plante, children and parents will be able to (re)discover the mystery of visual perception and the functioning of vision in various forms through the story of a friendly rabbit in a fun and interactive universe. Until October 6, the exhibit promises to delight children with an emphasis on friendship and the power of imagination.

“Children will quickly feel comfortable in the gallery by participating in this interactive exhibit,” explains the CCFM’s coordinator of artistic programming, Hélène Molin-Gautron, “One-Eyed-Rabbit addresses them and is designed for them. You can visit the exhibit spontaneously or as part of an organized tour with your family, school or daycare.”

The exhibit consists of anamorphic installations (images distorted with an optical system), original works, a didactic giant book and an animated video. Through these interactive works, One-Eyed-Rabbit introduces children to contemporary art in a fun context.

One-Eyed-Rabbit is opening August 19 at 9:30 AM in La Galerie du CCFM. Admission is free.

The exhibit runs until October 6, 2016. Guided visits for groups and for schools will also be available.
